OPIATE FOR THE MASSES Drummer Joins LEAVES' EYES, ATROCITY

October 23, 2008

Los Angeles-based drummer Chris "Seven" Antonopoulos (OPIATE FOR THE MASSES) has joined the German bands ATROCITY and LEAVES' EYES (which features ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull alongside members of ATROCITY).

Commented Seven: "I've been a big fan of the bands for a long time. I can't tell you how excited I am to play with such amazing people! I'm currently at Mastersound Studio in Germany tracking the drums for the new LEAVES' EYES record! These songs have a great epic vibe. I feel like I'm really expending as a musician!"

Seven will take part in the '08 Sabian "Show No Mercy" tour also featuring Ray Luzier (KORN, ARMY OF ANYONE, DAVID LEE ROTH) and Chris Pennie (COHEED AND CAMBRIA). The dates are as follows:

Nov 08 - Austin, TX - PASIC
Nov 09 - Sacramento, CA - Skip's Music
Nov 10 - Mesa, AZ - Milano Music
Nov 11 - Palatine, IL - Drum Pad
Nov 12 - Nashville, TN - Fork's Drum Closet
Nov 13 - Spartanburg, SC - Paradiddles
Nov 14 - New York, NY - Sam Ash

LEAVES' EYES recently posted a trailer for its forthcoming double DVD, "En Saga I Belgia". Watch it below. Footage on the disc was filmed on October 20, 2007 at the Metal Female Voices Fest in Wieze, Belgium and included a special stage set — the Viking ship designed by the group's tech Leebee.

LEAVES' EYES' appearance at this year's installment of the Wacken Open Air festival — which was held July 31 - August 2, 2008 in Wacken, Germany — also included the Viking ship stage set. Joining the group on drums for the Wacken gig was Alex Holzwarth, who currently plays in RHAPSODY OF FIRE and SIEGES EVEN.
